The first day of the GPO at Angerville has had very good weather, which delighted the competitors in the second round of the French Championship. The races went well, aside from a few skirmishes in KF which were difficult to avoid in the first corner after the start.
KF2: Leclerc, Moineault and Compere steal the show
The two strongmen of the day were Charles Leclerc (ART GP / Parilla) and Valentin Moineault (Tony Kart / Vortex). Starting from pole after qualifying, Leclerc was unable to compete in the prefinal because of a defective airbox collar. On the second lap, Moineault took the lead of the prefinal and went on to win, and crossed the finish line first in the final, before being demoted 5 places, giving the victory to Leclerc. Victor Compere (Kosmic / Vortex) had a great first day with 3rd in qualifying, a win in the prefinal and a second place finish. There was also a noteworthy performance for Paul Boutonnet (Tony Kart / Parilla) was on the podium, Remy Deguffroy (Tony Kart / Vortex) who was third in the prefinal and Sébastien Bailly (Swiss Hutless / TM) on his comeback with two 4th places.
Fiault at the top in KZ2
After a difficult first meeting in Varennes, Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) found performance and success on Saturday at Angerville. Slightly behind Maxim Roy (Tony Kart / TM) in qualifying, Fiault won the prefinal and then the final. Roy was still one of the fastest drivers in the category, showing remarkable performance in second in both races. Julien Poncelet’s (ART GP / TM) strength was a pleasure to see and has paid off. For his part, Laurent Marchandise (CRG / Maxter) did not waste his first race in GPO with a 3rd place in the final.
Besancenez doubles in KF3
The Sodi / Parilla driver Paolo Besancenez left no room for the others by winning the prefinal and final after his third fastest lap in qualifying. Britain’s Callum Iott (Zanardi / Parilla) had pole position and 2nd place in the interesting Prefinal. After being severely delayed at the start of the final, he could not realise his full potential. The rapid Arthur Lehouck (Sodi / Parilla) finished third in the prefinal and shone early in the final. But the Belgian Romain De Leval (Kosmic / Parilla) made the most of the game in the final by moving up to 2nd place, while Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM) completed the podium after a very positive day.
